How to commence – just start

What to say. I am looking to find a way which I can help improve the quality of life of people in the world. I have been in the IT, Media, New Media and Telecommunications in areas of Operations, Consulting and Senior Management. I am probably going to concentrate on the future of traditional Media, the future of the Internet where the socialism of and it’s technology infuses itself into the traditional Publishing and Broadcasting streams, comments on the recruitment process and probably lots more.

Improving the attitudes towards living seems a quite impossible ask, however one can start within your own areas of influence and then slowly it will grow, then one day- well who knows.

The time has come – to actually contribute – to give back – So what’s next? well I think, something different, a softer experience of living and the feeling that life is less a game and more something to explore with your curiosity. Discipline gives you freedom, and it’s a pretty good time to use it for whatever you decide you want or need.

These thoughts have been complied through life’s work, not all my own work, it comes from experience and friends as well as other input.

Our lives are commanded and controlled by detail, Simplify, simplify, simplify is the call to arms!

Our lives continue at a frantic pace with multiple tasks. Many of us have to prioritize our lives for work, and home life, your wishes of what actually is or should be your real life made up of the people and activities that matter, and a sense of who you are as an unique individual.

The process of taking steps to simplify your life can go a long way towards restoring a sense of balance and easing stress.

Some of my thoughts are as follows:-

Think about tomorrow the night before – this may save that frantic waste of time and energy in the morning.

Get rid of the clutter.  Take some time to go through your possessions and be ruthless in getting rid of whatever you don’t need or use anymore. This can sometimes include relationships that are no longer working for both parties. Relationships can often refer to business, that pain of a Telco or other Service provider, and may on occasion refer to people as well

Learn to say "no."

Before you turn on the TV, ask yourself if there’s another activity you’d rather do, or could share with your friends or family.  Maybe you’ve been putting off some other form of entertainment or relaxation.  Could be it’s time to do that instead.

Make a commitment to your own personal time.  Schedule yourself in!  Even if it’s just a half hour on the weekends, devote it solely to yourself, to spend as you see fit.

So, next time you’re tempted by a purchase, or someone asks you to join an organization or volunteer your time or money, just ask yourself, "Will this simplify my life?"  If the answer is "no," commit to that "no," and you can feel good knowing you have taken a step toward a simpler, more meaningful life.
